Subscription & billing
Your ZenHost plan, the billing portal, invoice history, and 2-clicks in-app cancellation.
ZenHost runs on a subscription. The Billing menu on your team workspace centralizes your plan, your invoices, and the actions tied to your subscription.
Access requires the Manage billing permission. If your role lacks it, ZenHost shows a notice "You don't have permission to manage billing. Please contact your account owner.".
Billing page
The page shows, depending on your situation:
- Your current subscription — plan name, next renewal date, price, trial period if days remain, a specific alert when the trial is about to end.
- Your lifetime order (if applicable) — for users with a one-time purchase.
- The checkout form (if you don't have a subscription yet) — to subscribe to your first plan.
- The Billing Portal button (if your subscription already exists) — see below.
The billing portal
The Visit Billing Portal button takes you to a secure page handled by our payment provider (Stripe or equivalent), where you can:
- Update your payment method (card, bank account).
- Download your invoices as PDF.
- Upgrade or downgrade your plan.
- Cancel your subscription.
- See your payment history.
Once on the portal, after your action, a button takes you back to ZenHost via the /billing/return page that confirms the operation.
Cancel your subscription (2 clicks in-app)
The flow is short — no form to fill, no justification to give:
- Click 1 — on the Billing page, Visit Billing Portal button.
- Click 2 — inside the portal, Cancel subscription button.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period (you keep access until the already-paid term ends). Your data stays intact; you can reactivate at any time from the same Billing page.
Final notification: ZenHost confirms by email and shows the Subscription cancelled at period end state on your page.
Trial period
If you're in a trial period, the Billing page shows:
- The title "Trial in progress" with the days remaining.
- A specific alert 3 days before the end so you have time to finalize payment.
You can:
- Subscribe before the end to flow into a paid plan without interruption.
- Cancel from the portal — access stops at trial end with no charge.
Reminder: during the trial, $0 due today, the charge happens only at the end (unless you cancel before).
Invoice history
Every invoice tied to your ZenHost subscription is downloadable from the billing portal. They are issued to the team workspace and made out to the name and billing address you've entered (editable from the portal).
Guest invoices (stays and extras) are a separate thing: they're managed from the Invoices page on the operations side (see Payments & guest invoices → Guest invoices).
Money-back guarantee
Per current terms, ZenHost offers a money-back guarantee. Exact terms (duration, trigger) are recapped on the subscription page. To trigger a refund, request it directly from the billing portal or by email to support.
